She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and spent a year working with HIV/AIDS widows in Mumbai, India.
After earning her master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, and a medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine, Dr. Chhabra completed her Orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. During her residency, she earned the Resident Research award, Golden Bone Excellence in Teaching award, and the Open Growth Plate Excellence in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery award – two years in a row. She has also completed 10 surgical mission trips worldwide, including Mexico, India, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Haiti. Her time working with these diverse populations helped to further grow her dedication to service for underserved communities.
Dr. Chhabra completed her Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery fellowship at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, training with leaders within the field at Texas Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children, Houston. She is thrilled to be joining Dr. Anderson and the OrthoHouston team. Dr. Chhabra strives to provide excellent advanced care to her patients and feels the family-centered care model is paramount to a fulfilling patient-doctor relationship.
